Here in Montana we hit -46 one day and -44 the next day. Daytime was -36. It took 15 miles under load before the heater put out heat and I could remove my gloves. That’s after a 3 minute warm up idle.🥶. But the tuned FBO engine started each day, not that it wanted to. Talk about rich after 20 seconds of cranking before ignition… those cylinders were full of fuel. The exhaust on start up as I scrapped the windows smelled like unburied gasoline.

I send a sample off every change and normally see about 5% fuel dilution, I don’t do short cool trips, always full operating temp, which means the 5w-30 I run has thinned to maybe a 2w-25. Why I will not run 0w-20….
I've read a bunch of oil test reports, and wear metals from using 0W-20 are just fine on these engines. I think that's proof that it's not too thin, for regular use anyway.
