Thermal tape and blankets which is best

the gold heat reflective tape was waiting for me when I got home from work. I know everyone uses it and says it works but I’m skeptical about it still after checking it out, it just seems so thin and not much of a barrier but I have never tried it before so what do I know . I’m gonna stick it on there regardless. I have two rolls totaling to 65ft and 4inchs , I’m going to try to cover the air intake and intercooler pipes hopefully it is enough n actually stick of course I’m going to scrub everything down and make sure it is clean before I apply it.
