17 Sport Hatch, 30k, zero mods, mostly a diet of Shell 89. 1st drive after winter. Doing about 85 after passing a car and then...limp mode. Check engine, abs, TC, and one other idiot light. I have 6 months left on the 7yr Honda care. Got a call a few hours later that they will order and replace the faulty injectors. 100 deductible 😃. Kinda odd. I store it every winter along with another car. Garage is kept at 50 degrees.

Newer cars just don’t do well sitting for long periods of time, even in a garage. So sensitive to any deviation in fuel. Injectors are so sensitive and get clogged with the slightest bit of deposits.

Does the sport hatch not recommend premium fuel?

i think these injectors are very sensitive. I ran a bottle of Redline SI-1 at 15k miles and my mileage jumped from 33 average to 38. injectors have that distinct clicking sound again at idle like it did when new that had quieted down before the injector cleaner.

Recommended, but not required like an si or type r.
The Si is premium recommended as well.

You need to be running that 91+ premium only if it recommends. Anything less will just lead to possible head gasket failure and injectors getting clogged. Honda made a mistake trying to let people run 87 on any of the 1.5T models. But asking for premium on base level Hondas would have gotten them even more backlash.

I’ll never be putting 87 in the Si.

The lowest we have here is 89, is 87 regular In USA?
In the majority of the USA, yes. The octane ratings they sell in certain regions is elevation and climate related as well.

Sounds like you’re doing what you can with what is available to you.

All I'm gonna say on the subject of gasoline, 64K never ran less than 91 so far so good. Injectors are definitely louder but still working.

I have my eye on maybe a new Gen Integra, which basically has the same engine as the Si. Has this issue been addressed by Honda? I don’t want to buy into a potential problem.

They discontinued the old injectors and have an updated version now.

Not uncommon. My injectors were just replaced last month on my 2019 Si w/ 64k miles.

You lucked out on the warranty! It was $1600+tax for me...
wow...the injectors are only like 500 bucks.

Picked up the civic yesterday.
New injectors.
New plug (prob taken out by the injector).
New compressor seals.
New condenser.
Recharge.

I didn't have an issue with the a/c other than it took awhile to cool the car off. It was cold though 🤷‍♂️. They noted it was blowing warm 🤔
