Yeah that's not really gonna be a usable log. Logs should be 20+ minutes of mixed driving. Some stop and go, some cruising and a pull or two.

Which gapping tool did you buy?
Oh i see now. In that case ill datalog when the gap tool comes in hopefully within today or tomorrow that way i dont risk damaging anything else while driving.

I got this one. Thoughts? Idk any other tools other than the coin, the blades themselves or this.

Also, does it matter which map i drive in and whether its in sport mode or not? Ive kept it on map 1 since these problems occured.

That's pretty much what I use. The coins are truly the worst possible thing to use with Iridiums.

As far as maps, I would prefer Map 2 at a minimum because the TSP 1 first map is more or less factory-ish. Map 2 is still fairly low psi so no worries about safety.

Update
Total tuned mileage: 58095 on the odometer (roughly 44,693 miles tuned) 10k on new engine setup.
New or additional mods added: Aem340 lpfp and PPG built transmission installed my Speedo was f*cked (which I anticipated) local guy who works for ktuner reached out to me about speedometer correction. They have new software that allows the speedometer to be corrected without the $500 module. It works great besides the gear indicator on my V2 screen is off by a gear. What I mean is it won’t read 6th gear so it thinks I’m in 5th at 80 mph at 3k so my mpg took a dive. I’m currently saving money for Motec m142 ecu gonna retune it with 2.0t injectors and a warlboro 450.
Issues: besides the gear thing the transmission has a 2020 si FD so that coupled with ppg gears my gear ratio is garbage now for 60-130 dragy pulls. I’m still seeing DI fuel pressure dropping up top sooo yea I don’t know what to do now besides go port injection and full send it.
It’s okay summer is here and IT IS not boost weather so I’ll just daily it and enjoy the whine and whistles.

Thats good to hear ! Also the tool came in and i adjusted the gap to 0.028” because for some reason i wasnt given a 0.027” blade, and i forgot you also mentioned to try 0.026”. So its gapped to where my previous spark plugs were at (hopefully this wasnt a dumb decision). If i have time tomorrow ill regap them to 0.026” if you recommend that over the 0.028”. After this is all done, how soon after can i drive to datalog? Dont want to cause more problems with the wrong gap

Thanks for adding you car.

1. You can disable the P0420 in the KTuner software.

2. LTFT2 and STFT2 aren't for our 4 cylinder cars so don't monitor them.

3. On a TSP 1 that .020" gap is way too small. You should be fine at .026" or .027".

4. If it's not plugs, or coil packs, injectors could be the culprit. How many total miles do you have?

5. If your knock control is elevated on 92, do you have access to E85?

Feel free to add a datalog to a post. Do the standard .kdlg and put it in a zip file.
Lol that’s the gap I’m running .020”

Total tuned time: Around 2 weeks

Total tuned Mileage: 500 miles, tuned at 28,000 total miles

Tuning device(s) used: Ktuner V2

Tunes used: Phearable 1.5

Additional engine mods: 27Won CAI

Problems/issues: Noticed a rattle coming from the engine bay from the driver's side. I think I installed the intake wrong and that is what is rattling. It only happens when idling in drive or reverse. Giving it some gas will make it go away.

Driving style: Mostly calm and short city trips with occasional WOT pulls when in the mood. Very occasional long highway commutes around once a month.

Additional Comments: Due to not having 93 available in California, I have started mixing 1.5gal of e85 from empty with the rest filled with 91. Gas is from Chevron exclusively. Knock control is at 0.49 consistently when not pushing the car. The max I saw was 0.6 after multiple WOT pulls back to back. LTFT is at around 1%~4% depending on how I drive.

Will keep updating as time goes on.

If you're tuned and your car is in this thread, read this...

If you've added a new related mod like say, an intake, make a new post here.

If you've driven a bunch of tuned miles since your last or original post, make a new post here.

If you're having as issue, make a new post here.

If you bought a new tune, make a new post here.

People make posts about their tuned cars and mods and issues and miles driven all over the board. By also adding that stuff here, I can add it to this thread's first post stats and information.

That way, the community has an easy, one click, all-in-one way of viewing a ton of helpful tuning info.

And isn't everyone into easy and convenient?

I had this issue. I followed a youtube video of this guy installing the intake and more or less followed it exactly like he did and I had the rattle when I was done. I opted to re-trace my steps and tore it out. I more closely looked at the install guide the second time around and noticed that the Youtube guy installed the grommet upside down (step 20). I don't know if this has a discernable difference in the install, but I flipped this around and reinstalled everything and the noise was gone. I also noticed that the bolt that goes *inside* the intake is very easy to over-torque and dig into the plastic. I suggest putting a washer on it if you're going to take everything out anyway.

I remember when I was wrapping up my (re)install and torquing the top bolt by the hood that it felt way more snug than it did the first go around.

Honestly, the better measure of the tune would be in both 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. As far as top speed, aren't Type R's aerodynamically limited to around 169 mph?
I don't agree. The hype on the car is how fast it goes around a track. Year after year is was the fastest OEM FWD car in the world around various tracks. It's quickness through the turns and great braking were a large part of that. It wasn't faster than a pedestrian GTI in the 0-60, but it kicked the GTIs time around the track. So a tune should resolve that. and the top end - and both should show up on track times. What I've read is that the top end is only limited by tires, not a speed governor of any mechanical or software sort..

Nope. Not the case at all. All I need in update posts is stuff that's changed since your prior post. Additional tuned miles driven. New mods. Changed tunes. New problems. I then add that new info to the first page thread stats. Easy sneezy.

So it might look like this:

Update

Additional tuned miles:
3500

New mods added: None

New tunes used: Custom D-Rob flex tune

New issues: None

Tune experience notes: Love the new custom. I make WRX's my b$tch.
