Very first track day of my life today. For a rookie, I think it went well. Impressed with the CTR. Ended up running a 1:31 at NHMS North Chicane/south oval. Definitely didn’t set any records but given my experience and the fact the car is bone stock, I’ll take it! Unfortunately no good action shots.
Love it! Welcome to the addiction :)
Let us know how the adventure goes.

I've been getting some wonky readings from my oil temp sensor that's in the thermostatic plate for the oil cooler. So I decided to order this oil drain bolt from STM that has a 1/8npt thread in the center. This allows for better oil contact with the sensor itself, so hopefully I can get more accurate readings.
I'm curious, how do you have this sensor routed into the cabin?

If anyone is interested in these rolloface 2pc rotors, they just need new rings. Just name your price with shipping and I'll send them out.

Hey everyone. New member here. Just did the 2 day track training at Calabogie Motorsport Park and I am hooked. My FK8 is stock with upgraded brake fluid + pads.

I'll be attending events ideally in the eastern Canada area, Mosport, TMP, iCar, and Calabogie.

JD, welcome aboard. Hopefully I will see you at Calabogie at some point. Great track. Another track you might be interested in is Shannonville. I went to Tremblant for the first time last year and that was fun to.

What hot tire pressures do you guys run? I was on 19" extreme contact sport 02s.

Nice to see another Canadian FK8 track rat. Calabogie is indeed a pretty track but I agree with metal_driver that Shannonville should not be missed. Shannonville has a bunch of 3rd gear corners with a few 4th gear ones and is a low consequence track. You can really learn to toss your car around there. Mosport is a completely different animal. Wickedly quick but really high consequence. Any significant error made there will be very expensive. If you live near Calabogie, it isn't worth the drive to go to TMP.

I actually live in Montreal. So not near either - but I have family in the GTA so I am willing to trip it down once in a while. For MoSport I was planning to run with the BMW CCA Trillium academy in September, so I can have some instruction on it. It seems a bit intimidating on my own.

I agree with Dave B. Shannon like is a nice starter track with lots of spots for overrun.
Mosport on the other hand… I actually don’t plan on trying that one on until I get a few more years experience under my belt. Just not worth the risk for me at this stage anyway.
