I have a 2019 Type R at 4000miles. Arizona car and never been any sort of poor weather. I am 1st owner. Just wondering if these rust spots on the subframe to be anything to worry about , and if I should do something about it? I have searched this forum and it seems there are a lot worse ones , and what I’m understanding is that it’s not a big deal?

That car looks brand new! What rust?

Seriously, don't worry. If you want your car to last 1,000,000 miles, get some POR-15 paint, and touch up the rust. Use alcohol to clean the spots first.

gotcha, I just want confirmation, as I tend to keep the cars for life. Already have a 19 year old s2000 , and hope to do the same with this car. Probably won’t last a million miles, but at best last my life time

Any of the black metal on this car rusts pretty easy but it doesn't get structurally bad. Rad support, subframe, etc. I don't think it's primed at all and definitely not zinc coated. It's nbd. I'll probably use naval jelly on the spots I don't like and repaint when I have nothing else to do, but it's not a serious thing.
