Should be more like this.

I think it's ~10mm edge distance, and maybe M4 or M5 thread size, but far from sure. I've ordered a bunch of different styles on Amazon and none of them have been a good match.
It's the same thing. 90308-SB2-013 is the clip used by Honda for many parts and many accessories, you should get them instead.

The distance from edge to hole is 10mm with more play if you adjust the clip itself, and you will find the self tapings crew, 90114-SE0-000, goes with the clip.

These two are the most common parts to keep for any projects or replacement.

Obviously I’ve tried putting on the grille on with the vertical support on prior to cutting. So of course the grille wouldn’t fit thus why I had to cut it.
Another example of American Modified Grill without having to remove the vertical bumper support.

Is it possible to cut out a notch in the top and bottom of the Js grill so that it fits without cutting the vertical support?

not really, it goes all the way pass that middle support bracket/beam.
if you cut the notch just to pass the bracket, I hardly doubt it will look any better than cut it off and install the js front emblem holder with the metal bracket as replacement to the oem bracket.

I think it is, probably, doable, but at what cost?

You would have to cut up the grille itself, do something about the wire mesh (maybe cut that up too or run it behind it?), and throw the emblem holder over it to cover it all (which one would also have to cut up to make fit).

Cutting the vertical support is no big deal. Not worth trying to come up with a workaround, imo.

Here is a link to the J’s Racing Grill DIY installation if interested :)

Yours is the original J's Racing grill, which is deeper and wider opening, so the vertical support has to be removed to make room for the grill and so does the 1:1 knockoff. There is an extra support brace provided to reinforce the structure.

American Modified is a lookalike grill based on the shallow normal grill, so the vertical support should be kept because there is no extra Vertical Support brace like the J's or 1:1 copy.

because you don't have to cut anything, just put the AMG on like any standard grill.

Yasu @J's Racing USA has them. The holder comes with the Type R emblem. Can see full details here.

I need this holder! The type-r badge is it oem? Or do you have to buy from j’s?

I got a carbon version of the this type of grill a couple months back off of ebay. I went to install it last week only to look at the backside of it and realize it has *no* place to put the screws to attach it to the bumper. I messaged the seller and he said it was a "buckle installation". I literally have no idea what the hell he is talking about.
