I had a previous bad experience with a large chain tire/wheel shop where they put hammer weights on my Mugen wheels instead of using tape weights. I had them take the hammer weights off, but the damage had already been done to the paint on each one of the wheels. Does anyone in the Houston (hopefully around the Katy area) area have a shop that they recommend for getting tires mounted on aftermarket wheels? I don't want to run into another instance of the tech having no idea what they are doing and end up damaging the wheels in the process.

Damn sorry to hear. I always order from tire rack and they have tire install service that comes to your house and they do it there. They got some fancy van for it. On my weddsports, they put on black painted sticky weights without even asking.
i know that doesn’t help but in the future, id go that route.
