I like your thinking, and I share your question. In a similar but potentially less expensive vein, is it feasible to replace the rear calipers and rotors with OEM fronts?

No company will bother to do anything with the rear on this platform even though we been asking for years. There is rage from overseas that has a kit to upgrade to larger rotors a few members have it but it can be pretty expensive. @PSPEC is making his own kit to run larger rotors in the rear which Im eagerly waiting for. Other than that your only options for upgrade is better rotor, pads, and brake line for the rear.
