White Powder Won’t come off Bronze Wheels

I’ve got these Volk ZE40’s on my fk8. I washed them one day at a self wash and noticed there was white powder that wouldn’t come off wheels. It disappears when I hose it down but reappears when the wheels dry. Anyone know what this is and how I can get it off?

Throw some garden lime on them and blast them with fire will take anything out.

P&S brake buster, make sure to dilute it before using.

I like using either Meguiars or Chemical Guys myself because it changes color when it brakes down brake dust, but not sure whats on your wheel, so whatever works for that.

These self-car wash places recycle the water which ends up including whatever products others use on their cars. Sure, the water is filtered, but... I'm afraid that this may have damaged your wheel's finish.

That sucks! Unfortunately car washes are awful. The water they use is pretty much the same water they use to water lawns. Meaning, recycled garbage ditch water. Ever notice the side of pple's houses or cars all bronze and discolored? That's from years of it hitting it from shitty sprinkler water. Imagine your car now with that shit water. I never go to car washes anymore. You're just pissing all over your car. When I would use them I would spend nearly 1-2 hours just getting off all the hard water spots. Nightmare. That water is not filtered.

You could try rubbing alcohol or a quick detailer as an option. I have good luck with those with stubborn crap on the car.

And do you dry after washing?
