K20C/L15B Painted Valve Cover Interest?

Hey guys, I know there’s currently no offerings for valve covers on the NA 2.0 models, so I’m here to ask if anyone would be interested? I’m going to get a 2022 sport 2.0 soon and was going to paint the valve cover similar to the Spoon gloss yellow one for the FK8. I thought hey, why not make some more for the CivicX and CivicXI community. So if I get enough interest, I would make a batch of 5 to 10 gloss yellow OEM valve covers from the one listed below. Since they are $130 to $150, I’d offer them for $250 + shipping. I could also make some custom colored ones for $300 + shipping. This would leave enough room to make the “business” sustainable and still be able to significantly undercut the Spoon and J’s valve covers in pricing. Let me know if you would be interested!

Since the L15BA valve cover seems to be $93 on hondapartsnow, I could do a custom paint color order for $250 + shipping. Of course this would depend on if the ones on the website are quality and if not then that would change the price if OEM ones from another source cost a different amount.

You might also offer a ‘core exchange’: people send their OEM cover back to you with the same packing materials.

Great idea! So far this is all just a concept that will start more rigorously once I get out of school in June, but it seems to be gaining a good following. Plus with each cover being hand painted and made to order it would mean a much higher level of quality control (cough cough spoon).

I would say $100 or so, I really have no idea right now as I haven’t even looked at the cost of paint or shipping lmao. I’m going to buy an L15 valve cover so my friend and I can start experimenting with painting methods to make sure we can achieve a quality product that people would be willing to buy.

I’ll get a pic when I get home, the paint is rated to 550 degrees and has built in clear.
