I am new to the threads and I am slowly learning my way with cars. I read through the other threads about wheel/tire fitment and size and although they were helpful I still question myself - so I am sorry for another duplicate thread like this. :dunno: go easy on me lol

I just picked up my 2016 Civic LX Sedan today, I really want to get those ugly steelies/hubcaps off! I was looking at two different rims.

18x8 40mm offset (https://goo.gl/qGzYs2)
18x8.5 45mm offset (https://goo.gl/2ct7Np)

I prefer the 18x8 40mm rim, so for a tire size would a 225/45R18 work well without rubbing or looking stretched? I appreciate any help I can get, being a newbie is hard lol. Once again sorry for a duplicate thread but I just want to be 100% certain and I know the people on these forums are incredibly smart. Thanks again! :imnew:

The 18x8 +40 will fit fine and not rub. I would go with a 235/40r18 for the tire. This size is almost the same outer diameter as the stock 215/55r16

That's also the stock tire size for the Sport hatchbacks and Si trims (which ride on 18x8 +50 wheels). And yeah, +40 should be fine.

So I should go 235s? What if later on I plan on lowering it about 1-1½"? Would that rub at all? Thank you man I appreciate the reply
