  1. Fuel and failures

Before autocross days, I'll mix in a gallon of E85 with 91 just to keep things happy. Otherwise, I cruise around in 91.
  2. Autocross STH Class thread!

Appreciate your insight! I’ll look into this in more detail. In regards to your front adjustable ball joints, I haven’t noticed anything but will keep an eye out.
  3. Perfect Oil Change Intervals Experiment

I change oil out at 3000-4000 miles. I only do so because I have been hitting autocross twice to three times a month and I push it hard on course. Solely been running Amsoil Signature Series 0W-20. I definitely do need to do some oil analysis but the frequent changes helps me see if there's any...

Good to know, thanks. Turning on the AC helped drop ECT temps by +20F degrees. IAT2's dropped as well when spraying and turning the AC on. Kept the hood up at grid. Note on the octane booster, I don't think those are recommended so you are probably better off sticking with 91. Great update for...
  5. Autocross STH Class thread!

Had two events this weekend. Crazy how well a gallon of E85 + 91 keeps knock control in check. Was at 0.49-0.52 the entire time on MAP 2. Cleaned my MAF sensor the Friday before and my fuel trims went back to normal (0%) on the way to the events. Auto cross fuel trims were just fine as well (0%...
  6. ARP Extended Wheel Studs

How easy were these to put in? Did you have to bend or cut any of the brake shield to slot them in? I'm looking to get these myself since I swap wheels often for autocross.
  7. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

Cobra CAI. Running a Cobra CAI. I'd like to think the filter keeps the MAF clean but it's been 5,000 miles since I last cleaned the air filter + 2 events in heavy rain. I've been meaning to pick up a recharge kit from PRL but the red option is almost always sold out.
  8. The Tuned CivicX Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

Small update regarding this. LTFT got worse since that post, it went to -9% to -11% at random times. This including autocross sessions and idling at lights. It would be at -6% during city driving. LTFT would get up to -3% on the high way and would struggle to go any higher (to 0%). Before this...
  9. Decided on buying a weekend canyon carver / daily driver

Springs are just really simple and straightforward. No real second guessing. Some coilovers don't come with suspension error cancellers or ADS modules. Then height adjustability, rebound, compression, spring rates, etc, it can get a bit overwhelming if you don't know what you are looking for.
  10. Decided on buying a weekend canyon carver / daily driver

OEM clutch is a hit or miss, some people had good luck with it, others not so much. Ensure those coilovers have camber plates, you’ll need some front camber (and some rear) to really get that front grip.
  11. Decided on buying a weekend canyon carver / daily driver

I wouldn’t place wheels and tires as a cosmetic option. It’s a huge improvement on grip and feel, and pairs really well with a rear sway bar. I personally don’t think the clutch upgrade is that important so early on. I used to canyon carve on a TSP Stage 1 tune on MAP 2 and never had issues...
  12. Autocross STH Class thread!

Do those BR Series coilovers come with camber plates on both front and back? I’d try something like -1.5 front and -1 rear to start for a mix of daily and autocross duty.
  13. Heavy Duty Front Lower Ball Joints

    Great data, thanks for sharing!
  14. which tune for the canyons ?

I used to canyon carve before I started doing autocross. IMO, depending on the roads, you'll never use a tune to its highest potential in the canyons. With that said, I used TSP Stage 1 on MAP 2 and it was fun. Definitely helped pull the car out of the corners. Highly recommend the springs and...
  15. Autocross STH Class thread!

Yep, I was putting down really good times on practice day. Unfortunately, I swapped wheels when I got home on practice day and drove to the event on the 200TW's. Really should not have deviated from the summer tire set up when the weather conditions were the same. Looking forward to sunny...
  16. Autocross STH Class thread!

200TW / 340TW split set up was not the move in the rain. Was feeling really good on 340TW (summers) all round during practice and decided to try the split set up for comp day. Driving felt.... off. Fronts couldn't cut through water that well and the rear didn't want to rotate. I think I...
  17. Autocross STH Class thread!

@alxgravel I don’t have any rubbing issues at auto cross with the 245/45/17’s or 245/40/18’s (I’ve went with both) on the Whitelines.
  18. Autocross STH Class thread!

I went taller tire only because I'm banging rev limiter in 2nd gear every run for 1-2 seconds and needed that extra mph. Heard good things about V730's in dry. May or may not snag V730's or RT660's as a practice pair. Recommend to bring the sprayer (unless it's raining), as you never know if...
  19. ECT, IAT, STFT, LTFT, etc...

ECT can fluctuate depending on ambient temperatures. I've personally seen anywhere from 176F to 205F. IAT1 and IAT2 also fluctuate depending on ambient temperatures. Hot days mean higher IAT temps, even for cold air intakes and upgraded intercoolers. K.Cont again, fluctuates but 0.49 is...
  20. Autocross STH Class thread!

Nice! If your tire has super stiff sidewalls, 45 aspect ratio on 17’s works well for autocross. I run a 245/45 on 17x9 fronts only. What tire do you use / plan to use for auto cross?
